Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our team for night shifts. This role requires a passionate professional to deliver high-quality care to patients in urgent and emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care in a fast-paced emergency room environment.
- Assess, diagnose, and implement patient care based on clinical judgment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Utilize specialized medical equipment effectively during trauma situations.
- Maintain accurate patient records utilizing the EPIC charting system.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an emergency room setting.
- Travel experience is required; first-time travelers with 5+ years of experience will be considered.
- Current RN license for the state of Maryland.
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH, CPI, and TNCC required.
- Familiarity with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4, with a maximum of 5 for lower acuity patients.
Shift Details
- Schedule: Night shifts (3x12 hours) from 19:00 to 07:30.
- Weekend shifts: Required every other weekend.
- Holiday shifts: Required as scheduled.
- Floating: Required within the specialty as needed.
Clinical Environment
The emergency room operates with an average daily census of 140 patients, equipped with 46 beds. The patient age group spans all demographics, dealing with a variety of diagnoses including:
- Chest Pain
- Stroke
- Sepsis
- Cardiac Arrest
- Trauma
- Respiratory Illness
- Respiratory Arrest
Required Equipment
- Belmont in trauma situations.
- Giraffe warmer for neonates.
- Rapid infuser.
- Lucas device for cardiac arrests.
Contract Details
This position requires a commitment of 13 weeks, starting on 11/30/2026.
