Shift Information

This position requires night shifts from Sunday to Thursday. The schedule includes two 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM and two 8-hour shifts from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM.

Job Responsibilities

The MRI Technologist will be responsible for performing MRI scans on an average of 20-25 patients per 24 hours. The department operates one Phillips scanner, and the traveler will never work alone, as the caseload is managed by the department.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a registered MRI technologist is required.
• Certifications: BCLS, ARRT (MR) or (R), and a West Virginia State License (pending applications accepted if active by the start date).
• Experience in outpatient and inpatient settings, including emergency rooms.
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center or teaching hospital is preferred.

Skills Requirements

• IV starts are required.
• Familiarity with PACS and contrast administration preferred.
• Experience in specific MRI procedures, including:
  • Abdomen
  • Pelvis
  • Head/Neck
  • Spine
  • Musculoskeletal
• Preferred experience in advanced MRI techniques such as:
  • CINE
  • Diffusion (non-brain)
  • Gradient Echo Imaging
  • Image Post-Processing
  • Maximum Intensity Projection (MIP)
  • Multiplanar Reconstruction (MRP)
  • Perfusion
  • Peripheral Magnetic Resonance
  • Spectroscopy
  • Spin Echo Images
  • Surface Coils
  • T-1 and T-2 Weighted Images

Additional Information

This department includes a total of 855 staffed beds and offers free parking for travelers. The facility employs Cerner and Fuji Synapse for charting. A flu shot is required during the flu season from October 1st to March 31st, unless medically exempt. COVID vaccination is not required.

Guaranteed hours for this position are 36 hours per week, and weekend work may be required based on department needs.
