Position Overview

The role of a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room (OR) is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients undergoing surgical procedures. RNs are integral members of the surgical team, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technicians to provide exceptional care before, during, and after operations.

Shift Details

• Two 8-hour shifts (7 AM - 3:30 PM)
• Two 12-hour shifts (7 AM - 7:30 PM) per week
• 40 hours guaranteed

Weekend and Call Requirements

• Call requirement: Three 12-hour call shifts in a 28-day schedule (Sunday through Saturday)
• On-call shifts available from 7 PM to 7 AM

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in a variety of surgical procedures, encompassing both elective and emergency surgeries.
• Monitor patients' health and safety throughout the surgical process.
• Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure effective communication and execution of surgical plans.
• Maintain sterile environments and uphold safety protocols in the operating room.
• Provide post-operative care and patient education as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the OR setting
• Experience in hip, joint, and knee procedures is required
• Travel experience is preferred

Certifications

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)

Licensure

• Active RN license in the state of Michigan at the time of submission
