Job Overview

The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining a high standard of patient care. This role requires collaboration with healthcare professionals and effective communication with patients.

Work Schedule

Three day shifts: Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm. Variable shifts may be required based on patient volume.

Qualifications & Personal Qualities

• Education: Associate degree or Certificate from a two-year college or a similar program.
• Licensure/Certification: Must be ARRT registered or possess other qualifications from an MRI program. BLS certification is required within four months of hire and should be maintained thereafter.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a related field is preferred.

• Understanding of electronic medical records.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively within a team.

• Flexibility and the ability to work with limited supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities

The MRI Technologist will:

• Perform MRI procedures, following established protocols.
• Screen patients for contraindications and adhere to safety protocols as per ACR and facility standards.
• Explain MRI procedures to patients, addressing concerns with tact and courtesy.
• Educate patients about the procedures and answer any questions.
• Ensure patient and staff safety, including explaining safety protocols and managing hazardous materials.
• Monitor patients visually and verbally during procedures.
• Operate necessary equipment for daily duties and ensure a clean work environment.
• Maintain and report on equipment status and help monitor inventory.
• Perform tasks in other imaging departments such as CT and X-ray as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, and some repetitive motions are required.
• Potential exposure to radiation in the work environment.
