Job Overview

The Registered Nurse will provide care in both Med Surg and Obstetrics units, utilizing critical nursing skills to support patient health and wellbeing. This role includes working on a rotating day/night schedule with 12-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive care to patients in Med Surg and OB units.
• Monitor patient conditions and deliver appropriate interventions.
• Administer medications and manage patient care plans.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient education and advocacy.
• Complete required documentation using computerized charting systems.

Qualifications

• Must possess at least 2 years of RN experience, including 6 months in Med Surg and 6 months in Obstetrics within the past year.
• Current ACLS, BLS Certification, and NRP Certificate are required; TNCC certification is preferred.
• Ability to function independently in both the Emergency Room and Medical Surgical units.

Work Schedule

• 36 hours per week with 12-hour shifts.
• Weekend and holiday shifts required every other weekend.
• 3 call shifts needed within a 13-week contract.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Med Surg and OB.
• Bed Size: 25 beds.
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: Typically 3 to 4 patients per nurse in Med Surg, depending on census and acuity.

Additional Information

• Required attire: Navy blue scrubs with no logos; white can be worn underneath or as a lab coat.
• Training includes EPIC Computer training, with 1 day of dedicated training for both OB and Med Surg.
