Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CVOR Tech with a minimum of 1.5 years of experience to support surgical services in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work efficiently with adult and geriatric patients, and demonstrate expertise in CVOR and trauma work settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparations for surgeries, ensuring all necessary equipment and instruments are sterile and ready for use.
• Scrub for various surgical cases as required, maintaining a sterile environment.
• Support cardiac and vascular surgery cases, as well as trauma-related procedures.
• Adhere to safety protocols including fire safety, aseptic technique, laser safety, and sharp safety.
• Manage specimen handling, labeling, and sterilization/disinfection processes.
• Follow universal protocols, including time-out procedures, to ensure patient safety.
• Participate in organ harvesting and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1.5 years of experience in a surgical setting, specifically in CVOR and trauma.
• Experience working with adults through geriatrics is required.
• Knowledge and experience in cardiac and vascular surgery cases, with a strong scrubbing capability for every case.
• Current BLS and NBSTSA certifications.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in a community hospital setting.
• Familiarity with organ donation processes.
• Proficient in using EPIC for documentation and communication.

Work Schedule

This position involves a 1:1 patient ratio with a shift of 10-hour days from 0630 to 1630. The candidate will be required to take call two days a week and every third weekend. Floating to the Main OR and Vascular OR may be necessary as needed.

Orientation and Training

Successful candidates will undergo a comprehensive 40-hour orientation. Scrubs will be provided for the duration of employment.

Special Procedures

The surgical service unit supports multi-specialty inpatient, outpatient, and emergent surgical procedures, including but not limited to vascular, general, neurosurgery, orthopedic, urology, OB/GYN, plastics, trauma, and endoscopy.

Additional Requirements

This role may require participation in weekend shifts as necessary.
