Job Summary

The Surgical Technologist will perform surgical and operating room duties as assigned, according to established policies and procedures, to assist the surgeon and other health care team members in providing effective surgical care. The primary focus will be on Orthopedics, ENT, plastics, general surgery, and some trauma cases.

• Unit Type: Operating Room (OR)
• Number of OR Suites: 25
• Average Cases Per Day: 75 to 100

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and equipment are available and functional.
• Perform scrubbing duties including sterilization and preparation of the operating room.
• Support the surgical team during procedures by anticipating the needs of the surgeon.
• Utilize various surgical equipment and systems, including Zimmer, Depuy, Biomet, and Striker total replacements.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and hygiene standards within the operating environment.
• Be prepared to cover cases outside of general surgery as needed during on-call or off shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Strong background in general surgical cases including ENT, Orthopedics, and Neuro.
• Experience working in a busy acute care facility with a large number of operating rooms.
• Familiarity with robotics in surgical procedures.
• BLS certification from AHA is required.

Work Schedule

This position requires 10-hour shifts with the potential to stay late as needed, with periodic on-call responsibilities.

Additional Information

• Must show proof of application for North Dakota Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) Registry within three business days of job acceptance.
• Scrub color will be ceil blue, provided by the unit.

Candidates living within 60 miles are not eligible for traveler positions. Local travel rates apply for those living between 60 and 80 miles from the facility.
