Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Psych Geriatric

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in psychiatric care, specifically focused on geriatric patients. This position requires a compassionate individual who is committed to providing high-quality mental health care to elderly patients.

Responsibilities

Provide assessment and care for geriatric patients with psychiatric conditions.
Administer medications and monitor patient reactions.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records.
Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to case discussions.

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of experience in psychiatric nursing; geriatric psych experience preferred.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
SECURE or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification preferred.

Schedule

This position involves a shift rotation of 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next, with scheduled work on every other weekend and holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas.
