Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (MedSurg RN) to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will work a schedule of 4x12s, from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with every other weekend required.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care in a medical-surgical setting.
• Monitor and assess patients' conditions, responding to changes in health status.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Utilize Epic electronic health record for accurate charting and documentation.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Participate in rapid response as needed and support telemetry monitoring.
• Flexibility to float to other units as necessary to meet patient care needs.

Qualifications

• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of medical-surgical experience is preferred.
• Licensure: South Carolina RN license or a Compact license is required prior to start.
• Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and NIH Stroke Scale certifications are preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in insulin administration, telemetry, and managing rapid responses is required.
• Specific Requirements: Previous experience with Epic electronic health record is preferred.

Additional Information

• Travelers may need to float within scope to meet facility needs.
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week; however, the facility reserves the right to call off one shift per two weeks.
• Free parking is available for all staff.
• During hurricane season (June to November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams; suitable accommodations are suggested before confirming assignments during this period.

Work Environment

This position is located in a medical surgical unit with a total of 34 staffed beds, ensuring a supportive and collaborative atmosphere for both staff and patients.
