The Mammography Technologist role is responsible for conducting basic diagnostic Mammography imaging exams and procedures, as well as executing quality control functions related to Mammography.

Essential Functions:

• Perform imaging procedures to acquire Mammography images in accordance with established protocols, utilizing professional judgment to adapt procedures as needed.
• Utilize electronic medical records (EMR), safety report systems, and other applicable systems for Mammography operations.
• Employ appropriate patient positioning tools, devices, and ergonomic scanning techniques to guarantee patient comfort and safety, while preventing data acquisition issues and caregiver musculoskeletal injury.
• Monitor patients' conditions throughout the procedure, initiating emergency procedures as necessary in response to any changes.
• Reconfirm patient identification, gather relevant information about the reason for the procedure, confirm patient preparation, address contraindications, and document patient questions and concerns while providing clear explanations and instructions.
• Process and perform image quality control, archive images, ensure complete documentation across all systems, and report diagnostic observations to physicians.
• Clean equipment and assess its safety for operation, taking necessary steps to obtain additional assessments or corrective actions when needed. Perform all required equipment testing as part of the quality control program.
