Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry I/IMC MedSurg

Summary

The competent Nurse, in a clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. This role involves providing both routine and complex care, with a focus on achieving long-term goals. The Nurse is expected to cope with and manage clinical contingencies effectively while making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to other care providers as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Meet the expectations of the applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provide nursing care in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in line with their level of care.
• Administer medications and treatments based on established protocols, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided.
• Assess the learning needs of patients and their families; provide education and identify issues and resources as necessary.

Job Requirements

Education/Skills

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty required.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• BLS certification (AHA only) required.
• ACLS certification (AHA only) required.
• Current RN License in the state of Texas or compact RN License required.

Position Requirements

Education/Skills

• All newly hired experienced RNs must complete New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of employment.
• New hires will be precepted by a designated trained staff member; initial on-boarding requirements will be validated through successful completion of designated organizational entry competency validation.
• All newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program or specific orientation; skills and competency completion will be documented through the program's tracking software.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is essential.

Experience

• Two years of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.
