Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team. This position involves working independently and requires a minimum of two years of current Registered Respiratory Therapy experience. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in various respiratory care practices and able to handle a diverse patient population, from pediatric to geriatric.

Shift Details

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week, totaling 36 hours
• Every other weekend and holidays as needed

Responsibilities

• Work independently with invasive and non-invasive ventilation, draw arterial blood gases, and perform airway management, including assistance with intubations.
• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment for diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases and illnesses, under the supervision of the Technical Director of Respiratory Therapy.
• Handle patient care across different areas, demonstrating the ability to resolve varying degrees of challenges.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of current Registered Respiratory Therapy experience
• Certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Experience working independently with ventilators, various positive airway pressure modalities, high-flow oxygen, and performing pulmonary function tests is required
• Prior experience in critical access, community, or rural hospital settings is essential
• Willingness to learn new skills, including home sleep testing and pulmonary rehabilitation
• A minimum of 6 months of previous travel experience is preferred
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR) is required
• A valid Vermont RRT license is required
• Must have access to a personal vehicle

Additional Information

All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application, and a maximum of five days is accepted. Note that travelers are expected to work one block of holidays during the Christmas and New Year periods. Non-billable orientation will be 8 hours long.

Dress Code

Business casual or personal scrubs of any color are acceptable.
