As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in facilitating operative and other invasive procedures by preparing and providing the necessary sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment. You will maintain a sterile field while anticipating and responding to the needs of the surgical team.

Essential Job Functions:

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
• Act as a scrub person during operative and invasive procedures by:
• Assembling supplies and equipment required for procedures.
• Preparing and organizing sterile supplies and instruments.
• Performing accounting procedures in collaboration with the RN circulator.
• Assisting with the placement of sterile drapes.
• Providing instruments and supplies to the surgical team throughout the procedure.
• Maintaining an organized sterile field and ensuring sterility, taking corrective actions as necessary.
• Preparing sterile dressings post-procedure.
• Clean and prepare surgical instruments for processing, transporting them to decontamination areas.
• Assist with post-procedure cleaning of the operative room and preparation for subsequent patients.
• Participate in ongoing educational and competency verification activities pertinent to the role of scrub person.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.
• Support the organizational mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in required educational programs as applicable to the role.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program.
• Licenses/Certifications/Registrations:
• Required: BLS certification.
• Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
• CRASE training: Required if travel assignment extends beyond a six-month period.
