Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team in an acute care environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with Physical Therapists to implement patient care plans and deliver exceptional rehabilitation services to our adult and geriatric patient population.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in executing treatment plans for patients.
• Conduct assessments, including AROM, AAROM, PROM, strength testing, and pain assessments.
• Educate patients and their families about home exercise programs and safety practices.
• Utilize appropriate equipment such as gait belts, crutches, and rolling walkers for patient mobility.
• Ensure the safety of patients while lifting and transferring.
• Document patient progress and effectively communicate with the care team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant in an acute care setting.
• Previous travel experience is required, with strong specialty experience preferred for first-time travelers.
• Active license in the state is required; pending licenses may be accepted under certain conditions.
• BLS certification is mandatory.

Schedule and Requirements

• Five 8-hour shifts per week, typically from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Weekends may be required based on selected schedule preferences.
• No floating between units or on-call duties are expected.

Facility Information

Our facility is a short-term acute care hospital with a capacity of 390 beds. We specialize in various medical treatments, including heart surgery and orthopedics, offering comprehensive care to our patients.
