Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in medical-surgical and telemetry care. This position primarily focuses on providing high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
• Accepting first-time travelers.
• Local candidates are welcome.
• Proficient in IV start, telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Certifications required: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIH).

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Job Details

• Target nurse-patient ratio: 1:5-6.
• Shifts: 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
• Contracts available for 13 weeks.
• Maximum requested time off (RTO) allowed: 7 days for auto offers.
• Floating to other Med/Surg units may be required based on patient care needs.
• Weekend shifts: Every other weekend is required.
• Travelers may be assigned to care for COVID-19 patients as needed.

Patient Population

This is a variable med-surg unit that focuses on cardiac and neurology services. The unit is certified for stroke treatment, hip and knee surgeries, colorectal cancer treatment, enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS), general surgical patients, occasional gynecological surgeries, hospice, cardiac services, and telemetry for neurology and oncology patients.

Unit Systems and Orientation

• Utilized systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR communication.
• Unit orientation consists of 2, 12-hour shifts. Hospital orientation in week one includes daily classes.

Dress Code

Scrubs may be a combination of navy and white colors.

Internal Notes

Candidates must successfully pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.
