Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Orthopedic care to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing orthopedic surgeries.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses using the Omnicell medication system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Assist in the education of patients and their families regarding orthopedic procedures and recovery processes.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records using EPIC.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.

Shift Information

This position requires working night shifts of either 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour schedules from 18:45 to 07:15. Weekend coverage is expected every other weekend, with potential adjustments based on unit needs. Floating to other units may be required based on skill set and staffing requirements.

Qualifications

• Must possess an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee or multistate.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in orthopedic nursing or a related specialty.
• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications are required.
• Experience with teaching and community hospital settings is preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience using EPIC is mandatory.
• First-time travelers will not be considered.
