Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical Telemetry unit. The position involves providing high-quality patient care for individuals with complex medical conditions, including those requiring higher oxygen demands, dialysis, atrial fibrillation management, and post-heart catheterization care.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for monitoring and assessing patients in a telemetry setting.
• Administer medications and manage intravenous (IV) drips, including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and initiation of sotalol.
• Provide step-down care from intensive care units, ensuring patient stability without the need for ventilators or pressor support.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and outcomes.
• Participate in departmental and unit-wide initiatives for quality improvement and patient safety.

Work Schedule

• Shifts: 4x12 hours (07:00 - 19:30)
• Floating to other units may be required based on patient care needs.
• Weekend coverage will be required every other weekend, subject to change based on departmental needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a telemetry or medical surgical setting.
• Experience with electronic health record systems, specifically EPIC.
• Valid Tennessee nursing license.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Willingness to review and consider first-time travelers based on relevant experience.

Patient Population

The unit specializes in providing care for patients with a range of complex diagnoses, primarily focusing on those with higher oxygen demands, patients undergoing dialysis, individuals with atrial fibrillation, and those recovering following heart catheterizations.
