Shift Information
Shifts are from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, consisting of 10-hour workdays.
Weekend requirements will apply only when on call and called in.
Job Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse in the Cath Lab will handle a variety of complex procedures, including but not limited to:
- Heart Catheterizations
- Coronary and peripheral angioplasties and stent placements
- Administration of lytics
- Embolizations
- Management of Impella patients
- Performing structural heart repairs, such as ASD and VSD
- Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEEs) and Cardioversions
- Tilt Table Testing
- Pacing and Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillators (ICDs)
- Electrophysiology (EP) studies
- Complex ablations, especially for Atrial Fibrillation (A Fib)
- Thoracenteses and Paracenteses
- Tunneled catheter placements
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Cath Lab is required.
- Strong cardiac proficiency is essential.
- Experience in holding and providing pre and post-care is necessary.
- Experience with STEMI cases is required.
- Familiarity with Phillips and Cerner systems is preferred.
- Prior travel nursing experience is a plus.
Certification Requirements
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
Licensure
Active state license in Michigan is required at the time of application.
Additional Information
Dress code for this position requires grey scrubs. The electronic medical record system in use is Cerner, and the primary equipment is from Phillips. The Cath Lab typically handles 15 beds with an average of 20-30 cases per day.
