Nights: 7 PM - 7 AM

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Summary

The competent nurse practices independently within a clinical setting, demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. This role involves providing both routine and complex care, focusing on long-range goals and effective management of clinical situations. Additionally, the nurse will make appropriate assignments and delegate responsibilities to enhance team efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of applicable competencies, including leadership roles.
• Delivers nursing care consistent with the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to their care requirements.
• Administers medications and treatments following established protocols while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication administrated, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers while identifying issues and resources.

Job Requirements

Education/Skills

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.

Experience

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• Current BLS certification required (AHA only).
• Current ACLS certification required (AHA only).
• Current PALS certification required (AHA only).
• Current TNCC certification required.
• Current RN License in the state of Texas or compact state.

Position Requirements

• All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• New hires will be precepted by a designated trained staff member, and initial onboarding requirements will be validated through successful completion of designated competency validations.
• All newly licensed RNs may participate in a residency program or other specific orientation, with skills and competency completion documented through tracking software.
• Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is mandatory.

Work Schedule

Full-time position with a work schedule of 7 PM to 7 AM.
