Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit specializing in renal and limb preservation care. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telemetry and management of dysrhythmias.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with renal and limb preservation needs.
• Monitor telemetry and assess patient vitals, including interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Participate in patient education and support activities.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a clinical setting, with experience in telemetry nursing.
• Certifications: BCLS required. ACLS and NIH certifications are preferred.
• Traveler Experience: Open to first-time travelers. Local candidates accepted.

Unit and Patient Information

The unit consists of 41 inpatient beds equipped with telemetry capabilities. It focuses primarily on patients requiring renal care, including those with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), acute renal failure (ARF), vascular procedures, congestive heart failure (CHF), and diabetic foot ulcers. The interdisciplinary team includes hospitalists, RN navigators, RNs, NAs, receptionists, dietary staff, physical and occupational therapists, and pharmacists.

Work Schedule

This position offers shifts of 12 hours per day, with a requirement to work weekends every other week. The nurse will float within the unit as needed. Self-scheduling is available based on unit needs.

Orientation

New hires will undergo a comprehensive orientation program that includes 24 hours of training with a preceptor and education on electronic medical records (EMR).

Additional Information

Scrubs are not provided; employees are required to wear navy or white scrubs. Candidates must successfully pass an EKG test prior to starting in this specialty.
