Job Description

The Certified Surgical Technician is responsible for assisting in surgical operations by preparing and maintaining the operating room, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring that all necessary equipment is ready for the surgical team. This role plays a critical part in patient safety and the efficiency of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of the operating room and ensure a sterile environment.
• Prepare patients for surgery by ensuring their comfort and safety.
• Handle and transfer surgical instruments during procedures.
• Maintain accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and needles before, during, and after surgery.
• Communicate effectively with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient care.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Schedule

This position is a 40-hour rotating schedule, which may include shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM, and 1:00 PM to 11:30 PM. There is a possibility of night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM or 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, but no on-call or holiday shifts are required.

Work Environment

The Certified Surgical Technician will work in a fast-paced operating room environment, collaborating with surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals.
