Description

Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Long Term Care team. The ideal candidate will have prior travel experience and a current Alaska nursing license.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality patient care in a Long Term Care setting.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Monitor and assess patient conditions, providing updates to the healthcare team.
Assist with daily living activities and patient mobility.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in ECS.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best patient outcomes.

Position Details:

Start Date: ASAP
Shift: 4x12 Variable (Day or Night)
Duration: 13 or 26 weeks, based on traveler preference
Patient Ratios: 1:20
Guaranteed Hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks
Travelers may be called off for 1, 12-hour shift per 2 weeks

Qualifications:

Current AK nursing license in hand is mandatory.
Minimum of 1 year of Long Term Care experience required.
BLS certification is required.
All caregivers must obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification during on-site orientation. A one-time fee applies.

Work Requirements:

No more than 2 weeks of requested time off (RTO) for a 26-week contract.
Willingness to work at least 2 of the 3 major Winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs.
Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility.

Transportation: Shuttle transportation to and from Anchorage will be arranged at the start and end of the traveler’s contract.
