Job Description

A Long Term Care facility is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in a similar environment. The RN will provide high-quality care to residents while ensuring their comfort and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to residents in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor and record patient conditions and vital signs.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of patient care plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations.
• Participate in staff training and development activities.

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska required.
• Minimum of 1 year of Long Term Care experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Alaska Food Worker Certification required (can be obtained during orientation).

Work Schedule and Duration:

• Shifts: 4x12 hours, either day or night, based on facility needs.
• Assignment duration: Traveler’s choice of 26 or 13 weeks.
• Guaranteed hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks, with the possibility of being called off for one shift within those hours.
• Must be willing to work at least 2 of the major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's).

Additional Information:

• Ratios: 1 nurse to 20 residents.
• All nurses may be required to float within their scope of practice as needed.
• Free parking available.
• Shuttle transportation arranged to and from Anchorage at the beginning and end of the contract.
