Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with experience in various surgical specialties, to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of surgical instruments and supplies needed for various surgical procedures.
• Provide direct support to surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgeries.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and sterilization in the operating room.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the following procedures/specialties:
• General Surgery
• Gynecological Surgery
• Vascular Surgery
• Thoracic Surgery
• Orthopedic Surgery, including total joint procedures
• Neurosurgery (head and spine)
• Trauma Surgery
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
• C-sections
• Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Surgery
• Plastic Surgery
• DaVinci Robotic Surgery
• Participate in training and mentoring of new staff and students as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of current CST experience is required.
• Active certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is required.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association is necessary.
• Experience with Meditech Expanse is strongly preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.

Work Schedule

This position requires 12-hour day shifts with a commitment to working 36 hours per week. Every other weekend and holiday coverage is required as necessary. Participation in on-call duties by rotation is also expected.

Dress Code

Facility-provided scrubs will be worn during shifts.

Unit Information

The surgical unit has a capacity of 8 beds, catering to a variety of surgical procedures.
