Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in ultrasound technology.
• Certifications required:
  • ARDMS (AB) or ARDMS (OB)
  • BLS/BCLS certification

Job Description:

The Ultrasound Technologist will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with physician orders and department protocols. Responsibilities include:

• Operating ultrasound equipment and selecting appropriate transducers, settings, and techniques to ensure optimal image quality.
• Preparing patients for procedures by explaining the exam, taking a relevant medical history, and properly positioning them.
• Recognizing and documenting normal and abnormal sonographic findings.
• Collaborating with radiologists and physicians by providing preliminary impressions and ensuring timely delivery of images and reports.
• Maintaining accurate patient records, including procedure details and technical data.
• Ensuring the proper sterilization and maintenance of ultrasound equipment.
• Adhering to infection control and patient safety protocols.
• Participating in quality assurance programs and continuing education as required.
• Maintaining compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
• Completing procedures in an organized, timely, and accurate manner relative to department standards.
• Utilizing effective communication to ensure customer identification, education, safety, and satisfaction.
• Documenting any variations from standard protocols and interventions with patients and families across all age groups, including neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
