Assignment Details

• Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift: 5x8 Days (08:00 - 17:30)
• Guaranteed Hours: 70 Hours per 2 weeks

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience preferred in an Acute Care setting
• First-time travelers accepted with recent Acute Care experience within the last 3 years or at least 5 years in Acute Care
• Certifications Required: BLS, State PT License, preferred WCC

Job Responsibilities

The Outpatient Speech Language Pathologist will work in a variety of clinical settings, providing therapeutic and rehabilitative services to patients. Key responsibilities include:

• Assessing patient communication and swallowing disorders
• Developing and implementing treatment plans
• Collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize patient care
• Utilizing safe patient handling equipment

Unit Information

The clinician will work primarily in an outpatient setting with exposure to:

• Surgical Patients: Neuro spine/brain/IR, ortho/trauma, cardiac, and cardiothoracic
• Medical Conditions: General, renal, neuro, cardiac, ortho, oncology, etc.
• Specialized Units: Trauma level 2, DNV Comprehensive Stroke Center, Mental Health, Mother-Baby/Prenatal, and Emergency Department

Work Environment

The facility promotes a supportive work environment equipped with modern handling and therapy equipment:

• Safe patient handling in each unit (e.g., Sara Stedy, ceiling lifts)
• Access to therapy resources including tilt tables, practice apartments, and gyms

Additional Information

• Weekend Requirements: Some Saturdays required as part of the regular weekly schedule
• Floating: May float to similar units if necessary
• Local candidates not accepted: Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• RTO: Requests for time off will be evaluated on an individual basis
