Job Summary:

As an MRI Technologist, you will perform imaging procedures following established protocols under the supervision of certified radiologists. This role includes assisting radiologists during procedures and supervising student MRI Technologists. Strong customer relations and patient care are encouraged and maintained throughout all imaging processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care and safety during imaging procedures, ensuring age-appropriate care and obtaining correct written orders.
• Efficiently utilize imaging equipment while minimizing repeat examinations and emphasizing cost containment on supplies.
• Instruct and prepare patients for imaging procedures, assisting in obtaining informed consent while ensuring patient understanding.
• Enter correct orders, diagnoses, and clinical histories into the computer system, maintaining clear communication with radiologists.
• Adhere to hospital and departmental policies and procedures while promoting safety and effective radiation protection.
• Contribute to the education of student technologists and maintain collaborative relations with team members across the imaging department.
• Demonstrate flexibility, accountability, and initiative in job duties, actively seeking solutions for improving departmental operations.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven ability to perform and teach MRI examinations, producing satisfactory diagnostic images.
• Familiarity with OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations.
• Capability to operate standard office equipment and practice good radiation safety measures.

Qualifications:

• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card.
• Preferred experience in cross-sectional anatomy or MRI.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Allied Health Professionals.

Work Demands:

This position requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting/moving patients, including carrying, pushing, or pulling items up to 50 lbs. It also involves constant reaching, talking, and listening, with corrected hearing and vision to normal range. The work environment may expose you to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and radiation risks. Flexibility to work under stressful conditions, with possible irregular hours and weekend/holiday shifts, may be required.

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Schedule: This is a 13-week assignment, with shifts on Friday from 08:00 to 20:30 and Saturday/Sunday from 07:30 to 20:00.
