Position Overview
The Nurse Educator will play a crucial role in providing education and onboarding support across two inpatient complex care medical/surgical units. This includes a cardiac unit that manages heart failure and pre- and post-cath lab patients, as well as a medical/surgical unit that cares for long-term vent and tracheostomy patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate educational programs and onboarding for nursing staff in Med/Surg, Med Surg float pool, and Cardiovascular Intensive Care (CVIC).
- Provide expertise and support in telemetry monitoring, ventilator care, and tracheostomy management.
- Assist with the implementation of clinical education initiatives and support staff development.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Active state nursing license.
- Knowledge and skills in telemetry and management of ventilators.
- Experience with heart failure, fixed rate infusions, groin and radial access management, tracheostomy care, and long-term ventilator support.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Prior experience in clinical education or formal preceptor roles is preferred.
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is preferred.
