Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Educator to cover two inpatient complex care medical/surgical units. This role involves addressing education and onboarding needs for the Medical/Surgical units, the Med/Surg float pool, and the Cardiovascular Intensive Care unit (CVIC). The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in acute nursing specialties, particularly in cardiac care and medical/surgical environments.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate education and onboarding for nursing staff.
- Cover two inpatient units: a cardiac unit focused on heart failure and pre/post catheterization lab patients, and a general medical/surgical unit managing long-term ventilator and tracheostomy patients.
- Provide training related to telemetry, ventilator management, and specialized procedures including heart failure, fixed-rate drips, groin and radial management, and trach care.
- Support the Med/Surg float pool and CVIC by addressing clinical education needs.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Active state nursing license.
- Demonstrated skills in telemetry and management of ventilator-dependent patients.
- Knowledge of special procedures associated with heart failure and ventilator management.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
- Experience in clinical education and/or a formal preceptor role is highly desirable.
- A Master's degree in nursing (MSN) is preferred.
Other Information
This position requires compliance with flu vaccination policies for all employees.
