Job Summary

The Neuro ICU is a specialized 12-bed critical care unit dedicated to the intensive management of patients suffering from life-threatening neurological and neurosurgical conditions. Common cases treated within this unit include:

• Central nervous system tumors
• Complex spine surgery
• Acute ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke
• Endovascular interventions
• Traumatic brain injury
• Spinal cord injury
• Neuromuscular diseases
• Status epilepticus
• Central nervous system infections

Work Schedule

Shifts available for this position are:

• 36 or 48 hours per week
• Nights (4x12-Hour shifts from 19:00 - 07:00)
• Every other weekend and holiday required
• Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays
• 40 hours available for time off requests

Requirements

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required
• NIH stroke certification required (may be submitted pending completion)
• Must adhere to the organization's float policy
• Ability to submit with a pending Virginia nursing license
• Prior experience with Epic electronic health records is required
