Requirements

• Experience: 2 years of PCU experience required. ED holding experience is required. General ED experience is not required.

• Ratio: 4-6:1, depending on patient mix

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

• EMR: Epic

• License: FL or compact nursing license. A recent Nursys must be on the profile.

• Education: Degree accreditation must be on the profile, or 5 years of experience.

• Radius rule: 50 miles from the permanent address

• Interview/offer: Interview and offer

Role Details

• The nurse will care for ED boarders and take patients in the hallway.

• Floating is required. Travelers float first and may be sent to sister campuses. They will not float to the ED.

• Culture is very important. Travelers are welcomed onto the unit and are expected to function like core staff.
