Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• 13-week assignment with available start dates every Monday
• High-acuity, heavily cardiac-focused PCU unit
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5
• Must independently interpret cardiac rhythms and pass a Dysrhythmia Exam on the first attempt with no remediation opportunities
• Dysrhythmia Exam is paper-based, proctored, and requires the use of calipers — no tech assistance permitted
• EPIC experience required
• Must have a rating of "4" on all cardiac skills on the skills checklist
• Must have chest tube experience
• Heart transplant experience preferred (training available if needed)
• LVAD experience preferred (training available if needed)
• No ventilator patients
• May float to similar cardiac/PCU units as needed — will not float to Cardiac Monitor Tech role
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 18 months of recent cardiac unit experience within the past 3 years required
• Georgia or compact license in hand required
• No local travelers — must reside outside a 50-mile radius
• Experience required with the following cardiac drips: Insulin, Milrinone, Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Heparin, Lasix, and Nitroglycerin
• Common patient populations include: Heart Failure, A-Fib, Atrial Flutter, SVT, VTach, VFib, Fluid Volume Overload, Chest Pain, Hypertension, Heart Transplant, Congenital Heart Disease, and LVAD patients
• Common procedures include: Right and Left Heart Catheterizations, TR Band Management, Sheath Removal/Management, Stent Placement, Valve Replacement, STEMI/NSTEMI Care, Pacemakers, ICDs, Cardioversions, Ablations, and Groin Site Management

The organization supports advanced cardiac procedures and manages complex patient populations including heart transplant and LVAD patients. The facility maintains rigorous clinical standards, requiring travelers to demonstrate strong cardiac competency prior to assignment commencement.
