Opportunity:

RN - 5th Floor (Neuro/Med-Surg)

Job Details:

• Night shift position with 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4/5 on days and 1:5/6 on nights
• Nurse aide support available at a 1:12 ratio
• Charge nurse does not take an assignment
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling options available
• Weekend shifts required - minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Holiday shifts required
• Floating may be required based on nurse manager and department needs, including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele units
• Common patient diagnoses include stroke, spine, neuro trauma, and general med-surg patients
• Acute care nursing experience required
• No drip titration required; common drips include analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives
• Phillips Telemetry monitoring system used; RNs must be competent in reading their own strips (centrally monitored off unit)
• Moderate oxygen needs; equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA)
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Driver's license must be submitted; candidate must be within 60 miles of facility

Facility:

This acute care facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center offering comprehensive medical services across multiple specialties. The 37-bed unit specializes in neurological, spine, and trauma care alongside general medical-surgical patients. The facility utilizes Phillips Telemetry with centralized monitoring and operates on the EPIC charting system, supporting a high standard of patient care in a well-equipped environment.
