Opportunity:

RN - Long Term Antibiotics (10 West)

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Weekends and holidays required as scheduled
• Acute care setting with 22 private rooms
• Patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6
• Charge nurse responsibilities may apply with 2-4 patients at times
• Care for patients with long-term antibiotic needs including infections such as endocarditis, abscesses, septic arthritis, sepsis, osteomyelitis, and diabetic foot infections
• Experience working with patients who have underlying substance use histories required
• Must be comfortable working with patients who may be actively using or withdrawing from substances
• Must be able to manage challenging or escalating situations related to complex patient behaviors
• Strong neurological nursing experience required
• Titration performed by physician orders in a step-down setting with possible protocols provided during orientation
• Portable telemetry packs used for cardiac monitoring
• Charting completed using EPIC system
• 1-2 orientation shifts with a preceptor on the unit
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment or 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Required certification: BLS (AHA)
• BSN not required

This acute care facility operates a dedicated long-term antibiotic unit with 22 private rooms, designed to provide specialized care for patients managing complex infectious diseases. The unit is supported by clinical assistants who assist with vital signs, fingersticks, and activities of daily living, and utilizes EPIC for charting.
