RN MS/ORTHO

Job Details:

• Day shift position working three 12-hour shifts per week on various days
• Every other weekend required, may change based on unit needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• First-time travelers accepted provided experience requirements are met
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA); NIHSS preferred
• Patient ratios: 4 patients per nurse on days, 5 patients per nurse on nights and weekends
• May be required to float to sister facilities within the North region, including a sister location approximately 14.8 miles away
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Unit focuses on orthopedic, spine, and neurosurgery patients
• 24-bed unit with a daily census of 24
• Required skills include but are not limited to: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, heparin and insulin administration, interpretation of dysrhythmias, ortho trauma, telemetry monitoring, total joint replacement, pre/post neurosurgery care, spinal cord injury management, peripheral nerve block catheters, PICC line management, wound care/wound vac, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
