Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a position in our Medical Surgical Unit. This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centered care within a fast-paced environment, focusing on diverse patient populations and conditions.
Position Overview
The Medical Surgical Unit is a 60-bed facility that handles a wide range of medical cases, including post-surgical patients, traumas, strokes, and inpatient hospice. Nurses will be responsible for providing safe and effective care, employing evidence-based practices to achieve positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care based on comprehensive patient assessments.
- Engage in lifelong learning through continued education, certifications, and literature review to enhance clinical expertise.
- Demonstrate leadership by sharing knowledge and serving as a clinical resource and professional role model.
- Maintain effective communication with colleagues and patients, utilizing techniques such as SBAR and interdisciplinary dialogue.
- Exhibit strong time management skills to enhance team productivity and performance.
- Fulfill other duties consistent with job responsibilities as directed by competency-based objectives.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in Med Surg nursing; floating or specialty unit experience does not qualify.
- Experience in a Level II or I Trauma facility is required.
- Current Michigan RN license is mandatory and must be active at the time of application.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
Work Schedule
This position involves a commitment of 36 hours per week, with an expectation to work every other weekend. There are no on-call requirements for this role.
