Job Description

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) provides critical care to patients of all ages from newborns to geriatrics. Utilizing knowledge of age-related growth and development, the RN will individualize the nursing process and ensure adherence to the nursing philosophy and standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to patients experiencing emergencies.
• Competently manage drips and ventilators.
• Establish excellent communication and interpersonal relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Adapt quickly and effectively to stressful situations.
• Collaborate with pre-hospital, emergency department, and in-hospital personnel to ensure seamless patient care.

Shift and Scheduling

• 12-hour night shifts.
• 36 hours per week, including every other weekend.
• Holidays as required.
• Submit all requests for time off prior to submission; no RTO requests will be approved after upload.
• Must be available to work during two specified holiday blocks if scheduled or needed.

Qualifcations

• A minimum of 2 years of current Emergency Department experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience of at least 3 months.
• Experience with the EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Must possess a valid RN license in New Hampshire or a compact state.
• Active certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS from an accredited organization.
• Traveler must have their own vehicle for this assignment.

Additional Information

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 in a newly renovated emergency department equipped with state-of-the-art monitors and communication devices. The facility experiences over 26,000 visits per year and operates as a Trauma Level III center.

All medical and occupational health compliance items must be completed within 5 days of offer acceptance. Candidates are encouraged to ensure their documentation is in order to facilitate a smooth onboarding process.
