Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical – Fort Defiance, AZ 86504

Start Date: October 7, 2026

Location: Fort Defiance, Arizona

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts with rotating schedule of 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next, plus up to one on-call shift per week. Flexibility required for days, weekends, and holidays. Maximum of two shift call-offs permitted. Time off requests for Thanksgiving and Christmas will not be approved.

Highlights:

• Dual population care: Adult geriatric and pediatric patients in a 20-bed medical-surgical unit
• Excellent staffing ratios: Typically 4:1 (maximum 5:1) for non-COVID patients; 2:1 (maximum 3:1) for COVID patients
• Travel assignment duration of 112 days (approximately 16 weeks)
• Two positions available for quick start
• May assist with flu immunization clinics and participate in staff meetings
• Orientation conducted on Mondays only

Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse license
• American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Three years of medical-surgical nursing experience required
• One year of pediatric nursing experience required
• Must be comfortable and competent caring for both adult and pediatric patient populations
• Flexibility to float to other departments as qualified
