Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical (Adult & Pediatric) – Fort Defiance, AZ 86504

Start Date: October 7, 2026

Location: Fort Defiance, Arizona

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts with rotating schedule of 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next, plus up to one on-call shift per week. Must be flexible for days, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduling needs may change. Assignment duration is 91 days.

Highlights:

• Work in a 20-bed medical-surgical unit serving both adult geriatric and pediatric patients
• Excellent staffing ratios: typically 4:1 (maximum 5:1) for non-COVID patients; 2:1 (maximum 3:1) for COVID patients
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week with opportunities for additional shifts
• May participate in flu immunization clinics and staff meetings as part of the care team
• Orientation provided on Mondays; housing information available upon request
• Occasional float opportunities to other departments based on qualifications and competencies

Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse license
• American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Three years of medical-surgical nursing experience required
• One year of pediatric nursing experience required
• Must be comfortable and competent caring for both adult and pediatric patient populations
• Flexibility to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
