Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit – Eureka, CA 95501

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Eureka, California

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:00 - 06:30), 4:1 patient ratio. 13-week assignment with 40 hours of orientation.

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit position in a community healthcare setting serving adult and geriatric populations
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, physical therapy, and lift teams
• Epic charting system utilized throughout the facility
• Consistent 4:1 patient ratio on nights with structured unit monitoring
• Potential for floating between sister facilities in the region as needed

Requirements:

• Active California RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience; at least 1 year of PCU/Stepdown or ICU experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with Epic charting system required
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, central line care, blood product administration, cardiac drips, BiPAP/CPAP management, and IV starts
• Must have worked in the discipline within the last 6 months with current work references
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Clean background check required; facility does not accept Nursys or background hits
• Candidates located within 50 miles considered local
