Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, PACU – Petaluma, CA 94954

Start Date: November 30, 2026

Location: Petaluma, California

Schedule: Variable day shifts (7, 8, 9, or 11-hour shifts), 5x8-Hour standard schedule (08:00 - 16:30). Weekend coverage required. Call coverage may include 1-2 days per week (8pm-6am weekdays; 7am-7pm weekends). Daily census approximately 15 patients. Float requirements include pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery areas.

• Comprehensive PACU experience covering all surgical specialties except cardiac procedures
• Work with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Supportive interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
• 40 hours of paid orientation to ensure successful onboarding
• One pre-approved time off period available during contract

Requirements:

• Active California RN license or Compact license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of PACU nursing experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Proficiency with Epic charting system required
• Extensive PACU skills including Phase I and Phase II recovery, conscious sedation, airway management, arterial line management, chest tube management, and dysrhythmia recognition
• Experience with pre-op and post-op procedures, endoscopy/laparoscopic procedures, and various surgical specialties
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
