Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit – Olympia, WA 98506

Start Date: December 1, 2026

Location: Olympia, Washington

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30), every other weekend required. 2:1 patient ratio. 13-week assignment through March 2, 2027.

Highlights:

• Work in a 21-bed CVICU with an active open heart program performing 1-3 procedures per weekday
• Care for diverse patient population including post-cardiac surgery, cath lab procedures (TAVR, Watchman, stenting), and general ICU patients
• Utilize specialized equipment including ventilators, Impella, IABP, internal thermoregulation devices, and temporary pacemakers
• 325-bed short-term acute care facility with Epic charting system and comprehensive interdisciplinary support
• First-time travelers welcome with minimum 2 years of experience
• 24 hours of orientation provided with up to 7 days of requested time off available

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact license accepted; must be in hand at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Extensive CVICU skills including arterial line management, ventilator management, cardiac drip titration, IABP, CRRT, and post-cardiac surgery care
• Ability to float between like units within scope of practice
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Candidates with permanent residence within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
