RN - Med Surg

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Kansas
Med Surg (1 year of experience)
Med Surg experience within the last year
BLS
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Unit Details

Unit: Med-surg
Beds: 32
Patient ratio: 1:4 with TPC; 1:5 with PCT, sometimes up to 6 patients with PCT
Shift staffing: Day shift has 1 charge, 6–8 RNs, 4 PCTs, and 1 unit secretary; night shift has 1 charge, 6–8 RNs, 4 PCTs, and 1 unit secretary until 10 pm

Preferred Qualifications

ACLS or PALS
Basic Dysthymia class

Clinical Experience

Total joint replacements
Complex spine care
Complex neuro surgery cases
General surgery

Schedule

Rotates every 3rd weekend
Night weekends may be Friday, Saturday, or Sunday

Work Environment

Fast-paced, team-oriented unit
Floating may include med/tele and surgical specialty floor

Dress Code

Royal blue scrubs; black scrub bottoms are also allowed
