Overview
- Travel RN assignment in Asheville, North Carolina
- Unit: STICU
- 20-bed unit
- Patient ratio: 1:2
- 36 hours per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- STICU - Surgical Trauma Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
- STICU - Surgical Trauma Intensive Care experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma or Level 2 Trauma patients
Unit Details
- Building: K Tower
- Scrub colors: Navy or white
- Documentation system: Cerner Power Chart
- Required weekend shifts: 6
- Modified self-scheduling
Float Scope
- Travelers float before core staff
- May float to MICU, NSICU, CVICU, CICU, or Step Down
Procedures Performed on the Unit
- Intubation
- Extubation
- Chest tube placement
- Central line placement
- A-line placement
- Foley placement
- Bronchoscopy
- Endoscopy
- Proning
- TPA administration
- Hypertonic medication administration
- Trach placement
- EVD/bold placement
- CRRT/HD
- Irrigation and debridement
- Minor surgery
