RN PCU
Overview
- Travel RN role in San Antonio, Texas.
- Unit: Tele/PCU Cardiac Unit.
- 29 private rooms.
- 36 hours per week.
- Contract length: 13 weeks.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
- Telemetry experience
Preferred Qualifications
- NIH Stroke Prepared
- PALS
- ICU experience
- Tele experience
- PCU experience
Unit Details
- Staffed with RT, RN, CN, Throughput manager, Case Manager, Rehab, Director/Manager, and Ancillary support.
- Day shift staffing includes 1 CN, 2 PCT, 1 UC, and 7 RNs, with sitters if needed.
- Night shift staffing includes 1 CN, 2 PCT, and 7 RNs.
- Patient ratio is 1:4 or 1:5.
- Equipment includes telemetry monitoring and continuous pulse ox.
- Common procedures include blood transfusions, IV starts, midline/central line removals, and care for high fall risk patients.
- Respiratory and cardiac assessments are performed on the unit.
Floating
- May float to med surg, Tele, PCU, and ED Holds.
Schedule
- Weekends: all.
