Oncology Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: West Hollywood, California Contract Length: 13 weeks Employment Type: Travel/Contract Shift: Day, 5x8 hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 17:00 (start and end times may vary due to department needs) Hours: 8 per day, 40 per week Schedule Notes: No weekend work, no floating, no on-call. Scheduling requests cannot be accommodated. Housing: Available for travelers, who can move in immediately rather than staying in a hotel (at additional cost)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Oncology experience (2 years)
• Oncology experience within the last year
• Experience in an Ambulatory Care setting
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or RQI

Onboarding and Clearance Requirements

• Background check: 7-year criminal background check completed within 6 months of start and updated annually. Includes SSN trace, sex offender search, federal district court search, and OFAC. Education verification of highest level completed, with transcript or diploma required. Open, deferred, or pending misdemeanor or felony charges are automatic cancellations. Traffic offenses are excepted, and DUIs are reviewed case by case.
• Drug screen: DS panel within 1 year of start. Marijuana/THC should not be included. Lab work must be completed within 48 hours of signing the contract.
• TB: PPD, QuantiFERON, or T-spot within 1 year of start. Past positive history requires proof, a chest X-ray within the last 5 years, and an annual TB questionnaire.
• Immunizations: Measles, mumps, and rubella each require 2 MMR vaccines or a positive titer. Varicella requires 2 vaccines or a positive titer, or proof of virus history or a 2-dose booster series if the titer is negative. Hepatitis B requires the vaccine series, a titer, or a declination.
• Physical exam: Within 1 year of start, confirming the individual can perform the essential physical job functions.
• Fit test: Within 1 year and updated annually for clinical candidates. Must be tested with a 3M N95 1860S (small), Moldex 1510/1513 (X-small/large), or Halyard Fluidshield (regular/small), including make, model, size, and date.
• Fire card: Required within the first 6 months. A course is taken onsite during orientation, even if the candidate already holds a fire card.
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam: Required for units that call for it (check the unit description). Some units complete a proctored online EKG assessment during orientation, and ER travelers complete a physical EKG test. Passing score is 80%, with a remediation process for failed attempts. Candidates should prioritize this requirement.
• Facility modules: Must be completed before start, with a timecard signed by the manager.
• Documents to sign: Job description addendum and acknowledgement, code of conduct and attendance policy attestation, job hazard analysis acknowledgement, and social media policy.
