Location: Austin, Texas Employment Type: Travel Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 36 Shift: 12 hours, 7a-7p or 7p-7a Schedule: Self-scheduling, 4 weekend shifts per scheduling period required, no call required Permanent Positions Available on Unit: Yes

Unit Details

• Unit: Labor and Delivery, 2 North
• Beds and Rooms: 12 LDR beds, 5 antepartum beds, 4 OBED, 3 OR rooms
• Staff: 72 total (nursing, CST, and schedulers)
• Day Shift: 1 charge, 10 RNs, 2 CSTs, 1 scheduler
• Night Shift: 1 charge, 10 RNs, 1 CST, 1 scheduler
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 and 1:1, based on transition and acuity
• Equipment: Alaris pumps, CADD epidural pumps
• Software: Meditech and CPN (EMR)
• Scrub Color: CST sky blue

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Labor and Delivery experience of at least 1 year, with L&D experience within the last year
• Experience working with High Risk OB patients
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• AWHONN Intermediate EFM or Advanced EFM
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist)

Typical Procedures

• C-sections, SVD, D&C, D&E, twin deliveries (both C-section and SVD)
• Scheduled and nonscheduled emergent C-hysterectomy
• Massive transfusion

• Level II Trauma designation that serves obstetrical patients with Level I and Level II injuries

• Physicians maintain strong relationships with staff
• Management is highly engaged and often rounds on night and weekend shifts
