RRT - Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks (unit will accept 13 weeks or longer, through an end date of 2/27) Shift: Night, 12-hour shifts (18:45-07:15); 36- or 48-hour schedules can be offered (48 hours per week) Ratios: 35-45 patients per day
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (2 years of experience)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience working with adult patients
- Experience in an Emergency Department setting
- Experience in a Critical Care setting
- Experience with intubation
- Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, and PAP therapy
- Experience with vest therapy
- Experience with heated high flow nasal cannula (HHFNC) ventilation
- Experience with meta-neb therapy
- Experience with Epic
Unit and Schedule Details
- Large respiratory care department practicing at the top of their license
- Travelers work med/surg and ICU step-down units, possibly the ED
- Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics
- Equipment: Servo I, Servo U, Hamilton T1, V60, nighttime VPAP, Omni-labs, V30s, and ABL90 ABG machine
- Locals accepted; first-time travelers accepted
- On-call as needed, based on workload
- Four weekend shifts within a 6-week timeframe
- No floating to other facilities; work is within the home facility only
- Scheduling is per unit needs
- Orientation: 7a-7p, then 7p-7a for night shift; 7p-7a RTs need a few days of 7a-7p orientation
- RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. RTO is limited to 7 days max for auto offer. Call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could result in cancellation.
