MRI Tech

Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology Location: Rochester, New York Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night, 4x10 hours (22:00 to 08:00) Hours: 10 per day, 40 per week Volume: 20 visits per day, 1 room First-Time Travelers: Accepted Local Candidates: Not accepted. Candidates must live more than 75 miles away.

Required Qualifications

• Valid MRI Technologist license in New York
• MRI Technologist experience, minimum 1 year
• MRI Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ARRT (R) certification
• Experience with Epic

Certifications Required Per Unit Description

• ACLS (AHA only; Provider, Instructor, and RQI acceptable)
• PALS (AHA only; Provider, Instructor, and RQI acceptable)
• NRP
• TNCC
• EFM
• NIH Stroke Certification (updated annually)

Background Checks

• 7-year criminal background check within 3 months of start, including SSN trace, national criminal search, national sex offender search, and eligibility to work in the U.S. (international search if lived outside the U.S.)
• Education verification from a primary source; hard copy degrees are not accepted
• If no education verification is on file, transcript/diploma and, for international education, a foreign equivalency evaluation (CGFNS full report, WES, or EEE of America) are required
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start, run monthly
• New York State Medicaid Exclusion List within 30 days of start, run monthly
• New York Sex Offender Registry search within 30 days of start
• New York Nurse Aide Registry, required within 3 months of start for Long Term Care, ElderOne, Home Care, and Hospice Care
• Fingerprinting, disciplinary action search, and DOH-102 form are required only for mental health, behavioral health, home health aide, and long-term care units

Health Requirements

Candidates must complete health requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing their contract.

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fit mask testing within 1 year of start, updated annually (a PAPR is worn onsite if the fit test is failed)
• TB: negative QuantiFERON, T-spot, or 2-step PPD within 1 year of start. If positive, a negative chest X-ray within 10 years and an annual TB questionnaire are required.
• Rubeola, mumps, and rubella immunity: positive titer or vaccination
• Hepatitis B: positive surface antibody titer, completed series, or declination (dialysis requires surface antibody and antigen titers)
• Varicella: positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history
• Drug screen within 30 days of start (amphetamines, cocaine, ecstasy, fentanyl, heroin, and opiates)
• Snellen eye exam within 1 year of start (not required annually)
• Flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season, due by 12/3
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Other Requirements

• Two work references within 3 years of start, required for direct candidates only (not required by facility)
• Facility modules completed using login issued by the facility 2 weeks before start
• Parking pass form required for all candidates
