CT Scan Technologist

Location: Neptune, New Jersey Employment Type: Clinical-Allied Contract Length: 13 weeks Schedule: Tuesday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM, 4 x 10 hours (40 hours/week) Scrub Color: Black

Role Summary

The CT Scan Technologist performs computed tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation, and assists with interventional and therapeutic procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs complex CT procedures, including contrast administration and venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance.
• Reviews patient history, prescriptions, and insurance-authorized exam scripts, and communicates with radiologists and referring physicians to clarify orders.
• Prepares patients for scanning, including shielding and immobilization, and monitors them for adverse reactions.
• Evaluates radiographs in PACS for proper identification and diagnostic value.
• Provides patients and family members with exam copies and clear procedural instructions.
• Adapts care to patient age, culture, language, and communication needs.
• Works scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends, with overtime and on-call assignments as needed per Department of Radiology policy.
• Physical demands: lift at least 25 lbs, push and pull at least 50 lbs, and stand at least 6 hours a day.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program; high school diploma or equivalent.
• Licenses and certifications:

  • NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License
  • ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, within three months of hire
  • ARRT (CT) certification, within twelve months of hire
• Experience: 3 years of experience (required)
• Other: Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiological positioning; understanding of CT software and hardware mechanics; maintains CEU credits; outpatient CT experience (required hard skill)

Preferred Qualifications

• ARRT (CT) license
• Six months of CT experience
• Trauma 1 center experience
• More than 5 years of experience

Assignment Details

• On-call requirement: Yes
• Every other weekend required
• 1 holiday required
• No float requirement
